Granite Care
Natural stones are porous and can be
penetrated by liquids such as water and oil.
At the time of installation the countertops are
sealed with an impregnating sealer to minimize
staining.
The care and cleaning of your Granite
countertops is very simple and will increase the
life of your counterrtop. In addition to dusting,
you should clean natural stone on a periodic
basis with warm water and a mild cleanser.
Abrasive cleaners should never be used.
Cleaners with ammonia, bleach, acids, or other
all-purpose cleaners should be avoided. Clean
stone surfaces with a few drops of neutral
cleaner, stone soap or a mild liquid
dishwashing detergent with WARM WATER.
These cleansers are mild and do not contain
harsh chemicals which can damage the sealant.
It is important to clean all spills and avoid
leaving unwrapped foods on granite surfaces.
Clean up spills as soon as possible.
